The Greenwich Odeum was the place to be on Friday night, April 4th, when 92 PRO-FM hosted a night of mesmerizing comedy with stage Hypnotist Frank Santos Jr. and stand-up comic Mike Hanley.
92 PRO-FM morning hosts Bekah Berger, Kim Zandy, and Jay Buff took the stage to welcome the packed house to the Greenwich Odeum before kicking off the show with comedian Mike Hanley.
The audience was captivated by Hanley’s energetic, animated, and fast-paced comedy delivery style, which often reflects on his own life, family, and parenting experiences. The comical and entertaining 30-minute set served as the ideal warm-up for the comedic hypnosis show to follow.
After a brief intermission, the highly anticipated hypnosis show began with Frank Santos Jr. conducting a quick pre-qualifying test that involved audience participation before inviting volunteers to the stage.
The stage quickly filled with many volunteers, which Frank narrowed down to a dozen who passed a pre-qualifying hypnotic on-stage test. Once underway, the 90-minute show mesmerized the audience with hilarious situational comedy scenarios featuring the hypnotized volunteers.
The volunteers, consisting of nine women and three men, were placed in various situations through hypnotic suggestions, including encounters with attractive aliens, becoming competitive singers, and award-winning exotic dancers, to name just a few. Frank often had multiple hypnotic-inspired situations occurring simultaneously, creating hysterical stage mayhem with the audience roaring in laughter.
Several routines required the assistance of an audience member that Frank would call to the stage. One such assistant was a police officer from Massachusetts, whom the hypnotized subjects were led to believe had a serious flatulence problem, leading to humorous exchange and interaction.
The R-rated show was indeed risqué yet tastefully tame, balancing provocative content with restraint. As a veteran stage hypnotist, Frank lets the amusing scenario unfold just long enough before placing his subjects back into a hypnotic sleep, only to awaken them for another round of antics.
Before bringing the volunteers out of hypnosis to conclude the show, Frank provides them with hypnotic suggestions for weight loss, quitting smoking, and other habits they shared with him before being hypnotized.
The show was an incredibly fun night out for all involved, both on and off stage. RILiveMusic.com had a fantastic time covering the event and meeting Frank Santos Jr., Mike Hanley and the 92 PRO-FM morning crew!
